Brew Five Three

Brew Five Three is downtown Tacoma's beer and blues block party, named for the 253 area code it calls home. The festival brings together more than thirty breweries and cideries from Tacoma and the South Sound, pairing the tap list with live blues from local bands and a lineup of food trucks along a closed-off downtown block. It is a 21-and-over event, and proceeds have traditionally supported local community causes.
The beer list is a snapshot of the South Sound scene - Tacoma's own breweries pouring next to producers from across Pierce County and the wider Puget Sound, with ciders rounding out the taps. The blues stage runs through the afternoon, which gives Brew Five Three a different rhythm from a typical convention-hall tasting festival: it is as much a street party as a beer event.
The 2026 edition is the festival's fourth year, and it has grown each summer as downtown Tacoma's beer culture has filled in around it. If you are making a day of it, the breweries and taprooms of Tacoma's downtown core are within easy walking distance of the festival footprint.
