Balloons on the Hill is the hot air balloon festival at Heritage Hill Brewhouse in Pompey, New York - a working farm brewery on a hilltop south of Syracuse with one of the best panoramic views in Central New York. On festival evenings the field fills with balloon launches and glows against the ridgeline, with the brewery's beer, farm-to-table food, and live music rounding out a summer evening that has quickly become one of the region's most photogenic traditions.
Heritage Hill is a true farm brewery - the property is a multi-generation family farm, and the brewhouse pours beer made with New York-grown ingredients alongside a full kitchen. The balloon festival folds into everything else the farm does in summer: outdoor concerts, kid and family activities around the farm, and the CNY Brewseum, the on-site museum of Central New York brewing history.
The festival's draw is simple - hot air balloons rising over the Pompey hills at golden hour, a fresh farm brew in hand. Bring a blanket, come early, and expect the launch schedule to flex with the wind, as every balloon event does.
