National Brewing Company

The National Brewing Company oversees the relaunch of National Premium, a historical Baltimore beer brand first established in 1936. The original recipe was developed by brewmaster Carl R. Kreitler, who joined the company following the repeal of Prohibition and supervised the renovation of the East Baltimore brewery. National Premium was historically positioned as an upscale offering, distinct from the company's more widely distributed National Bohemian. For the current iteration, National Brewing Company utilizes contract brewing services, with production handled by Heavy Seas at their Halethorpe facility, marking the first time the brand has been brewed in Baltimore since 1996. The company focuses primarily on resurrecting this single, iconic legacy lager.
