Brewery Profile

Lake Bums BrewCo, LLC.

Pontiac’s beer scene is tied closely to Bull Shoals Lake, and Lake Bums BrewCo, LLC. reflects that setting more than a large-city brewery district. A visitor arriving at the Pontiac location finds a small craft brewery near Pontiac Cove Marina, serving as a casual stop for lake traffic and local regulars. The brewery was founded in 2017 and began selling its own beer in March 2018. In 2024, the Williams family, owners of A-Squared Brewing Company in Mountain Grove, Missouri, acquired Lake Bums BrewCo and took over operations. The tap setup has grown from the original six taps to sixteen, giving the room more flexibility for house beer and other draft choices, though the taproom is the place to confirm what is pouring on a given day.

Travelers in this part of Missouri often build their stops around boating, fishing, camping, and slower lake weekends, so the brewery fits as an informal gathering point rather than a destination built around a formal tasting program. Specific beer names and year-round flagships are not publicly established in the provided information, but the brewery’s role is clear: it offers its own craft beer in a place where visitors may want a draft after time on the water or a low-key evening with other lakegoers. The regular schedule of community events, including live music nearly every weekend, adds to that pattern. For visitors used to planning brewery stops by style lists, the most reliable approach is to check the current board when they arrive.

Food service is handled through the on-site Feeding Frenzy Food Boat, which offers items such as burgers, tacos, and sandwiches. Guests are also allowed to bring outside food, including meals from nearby restaurants, which makes the brewery flexible for groups with different preferences. Because the known details do not specify hours, seating arrangements, reservations, parking, or family and pet policies, those are best confirmed directly before visiting, especially during busy lake-season weekends or event nights. The main practical draw is straightforward: Lake Bums BrewCo provides local draft beer, casual food options, and frequent live music close to the marina, making it an easy stop for people already spending time around Pontiac and Bull Shoals Lake.

The Williams family, owners of A-Squared Brewing Company in Mountain Grove, Missouri, acquired Lake Bums BrewCo in 2024, taking over operations for the Pontiac location. This small brewery, situated near the Pontiac Cove Marina on Bull Shoals Lake, began selling its own craft beers in March 2018 after being founded the previous year. To meet growing demand from lake visitors and locals, the brewery expanded its initial system, increasing the available taps from six to sixteen. While primarily focused on brewing, Lake Bums BrewCo utilizes the on-site "Feeding Frenzy Food Boat" for service, which offers a menu including burgers, tacos, and sandwiches. Patrons are also permitted to bring outside food, including items from nearby restaurants. The facility regularly hosts community events, including live music performances scheduled nearly every weekend.
