Brewery Profile

Altered Genius Brewing Co. 2, Trailside Taproom

For visitors looking at Imperial’s craft beer options, this Trailside Taproom is the local outlet for Altered Genius Brewing Co., whose main brewing facility is in Ambridge. The Imperial site functions as a dedicated taproom and satellite location rather than the primary production brewery, so the focus is on serving the company’s beers and giving local drinkers a nearby place to try what is currently available. A visitor walking in should expect a taproom-style stop built around draft pours from Altered Genius, with the selection changing over time rather than a fixed list. It fits into the area’s beer scene as a neighborhood-facing extension of a regional brewpub operation.

Travelers in western Pennsylvania often look for breweries that offer variety without requiring a deep commitment to one style. This taproom fits that pattern because Altered Genius is known for a rotating portfolio that can include traditional lagers as well as more contemporary IPA styles. That range makes the stop useful for mixed groups: one person may be interested in cleaner, familiar beer styles, while another may be looking for something more current and hop-forward. Since the Imperial location is tied to the brewery’s wider production, it can serve as a convenient place to sample the brand without going to the Ambridge brewing facility. The experience is best understood as a taproom visit centered on current drafts, not as a tour-heavy production stop.

Practical details should be checked directly with the taproom before planning around them. The known core offering is Altered Genius beer on draft, with a limited food menu typical of a brewpub setting, but daily pours and food availability can change. If a specific style is important, the taproom is the place to confirm the day’s lineup. The same is true for hours, seating arrangements, events, and any to-go sales, since those details are not fixed by the general description. For a visitor passing through Imperial, the main reason to stop is straightforward: it is a local taproom for a brewery that produces a varied, rotating selection of craft beer, with the convenience of accessing those beers outside the main Ambridge location.

Altered Genius Brewing Co. focuses on producing a rotating selection of craft beers, operating primarily as a brewpub. While the main brewing facility is located in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, the Imperial location functions as a dedicated taproom and satellite outlet for distribution and local sales. The brewery emphasizes a diverse portfolio of styles, ranging from traditional lagers to contemporary IPAs. The establishment serves its own brewed products on draft, often complementing the offerings with a limited food menu typical of a brewpub setting.
