Beer Profile
Rye Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
This Imperial Stout, clocking in at 9.6% ABV, spent over two years aging in Rye whiskey barrels, developing a deep complexity. The base stout offers a traditional, big roasty character, which is complemented by notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Barrel aging has smoothed the original hop bitterness, integrating flavors of spicy Rye whiskey and toasted oak that are prominent both on the palate and in the aroma. The extended maturation results in a rich, flavorful profile with a lingering warmth.
